Skiers and snowboarders will find 40 kilometers of ski slopes in ski area of Gaissau-Hintersee.
The Gaissau-Hintersee ski area is a family-friendly ski area near Faistenau. There are 9 lifts and 40 kilometers of slopes. The ski area is ideal for children with its several ski schools and two children's centres - one in Spielberg and one in Anzersbergalm. These centres guarantee fun, both with and without skis. Advanced skiers and boarders will tend to go towards the Wieserhorndl. Here there are tricky mogul slopes and a snowboard park.
Faistenau itself is well-known for its cross-country skiing. Around the village there are 55 kilometers of well groomed trails of all levels. It is also possible to cross-country ski on the floodlit trail in the evenings. The trail starts in the middle of the village and continues for five kilometers long and is floodlit until 9pm!
