Scharnitz is also called the gate of the Karwendel mountain range which is the largest protected area of the eastern Alps. Scharnitz is a cozy, hospitable village with affordable accommodation. More than 35 mountain huts and cafe's are available to quench your thirst. The ski area is well laid out with a chairlift to the Mühlberg (1358 m) and a red run back to the village. For beginners there are some magic carpet lifts. Scharnitz is also connected to the huge cross-country trails on the plateau of Seefeld.
