Ski Zillertal 3000 was inaugurated in December 2001, when it became the largest ski region in Zillertal with almost 200km of slopes. The ski resorts of Mayrhofen, Hippach, Finkenberg and Lanersbach-Hintertux, already ideal and very popular ski holiday destinations, joined together to create a vast ski area called the Ski Zillertal 3000. The ski slopes and views from the Hintertux Glacier, high up in the Zillertal area, will long remain in the memory of any visitor. The other local ski areas are connected by lift and free ski bus, ensuring you can easily ski for hours without having to take the same run twice. Hippach and Finkenberg are small, charming ski resorts for skiers who love peace and quiet but who will appreciate access to the slopes of the Ski Zillertal 3000.
Mayrhofen is the largest ski resort in the Ski Zillertal 3000 ski area and has long been known as one of the world's top ski and snowboard holiday destinations. Beginner skiers will find plenty of practice runs around the mid-station of the Finkenberg, intermediate skiers have an endless choice of well-kept ski slopes and for advanced skiers looking for a real challenge, there is the Harakiri run, the steepest slope experience in Austria with a 78% gradient! There is also some impressive off-piste ski terrain and plenty of black runs for expert skiers to get their teeth into in the Ski Zillertal 3000 ski area. Up on the Hintertux Glacier, the only ski area in Austria to open 365 days a year, you can always be sure of having reliable snow cover. Cross-country skiers and winter hikers have several dozen kilometres of trails to explore, and there are plenty of non-skiing activities available in the different ski resorts. Ski Zillertal 3000 is not to be confused with the Zillertal Arena.

Hintertux Glacier: Open 365 days a year
Booked a ski holiday at Mayrhofen and worried about the snow cover? Don't worry, you're guaranteed snow at the Hintertux Glacier! This is Austria's only true year-round ski resort, with high-altitude slopes that are always covered in the white stuff! The ski area has 60km of slopes in the winter and around 20km in the summer, a very decent offering for a summer glacier ski area. The quiet town of Hintertux offers skiers and snowboarders the opportunity to stay within short reach of the glacier so you can get those fresh tracks in in the morning!
