The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn is the ideal destination for a ski holiday with friends. With more than 270km of slopes, a lively après-ski scene and a range of comfortable accommodation options, planning a successful ski trip with your mates has never been easier. If you’re looking for a destination that offers plenty to do both on and off the slopes, look no further. Here are 7 reasons we love group ski holidays at the Skicircus.

1. For the great après-ski scene

There’s no better way to bond on a ski holiday than through a great après-ski session. The mountainside après-ski joints at the Skicircus start the party going as early as noon and keep right on partying into the wee hours down at the bars in the villages. For packed and rowdy parties head to Saalbach and Hinterglemm, and for a cosier scene try the bars in Fieberbrunn and Leogang.

2. For the plethora of group-friendly accommodation

No matter whether you’re going with a few close mates or with the entire extended group of friends, you’ll have no trouble finding suitable accommodations at the Skicircus. The villages of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn offer apartments and hotels ranging from two to five stars, with options for self-catering or half-board. Check out the range of accommodations in the Skicircus villages >

3. For the varied terrain

The linked ski area of the Skicircus boasts 270km of slopes for all levels of skiers. If you’ve finally persuaded your non-skiing friends to join you on a ski holiday, this is the perfect place to take them: you can find English-speaking ski instructors and an abundance of blue slopes and wide slopes that are perfect for practising your ski technique. Experts need not fear, as there are plenty of ski tours and challenging black runs to attempt.

4. For the many non-skiing activities on offer

Think outside the slopes and try fun group activities like ice skating, sledging (also available in the evenings), paragliding or snow-tubing. Is there anything more romantic than sharing a special ride in a horse-drawn carriage with your friends?

5. For the delicious food at the mountain restaurants

Austrian cuisine enthusiasts will find no less than 60 mountain restaurants on the slopes of the Skicircus. Introduce your friends to delicacies like schnitzel and tiroler gröstl, or indulge in a communal plate of kaiserschmarrn. And, of course, there’s always the option of a quick salad, pasta or hamburger if you want to make the most of your ski day!

6. For the modern lifts

The Skicircus enjoys fast, modern lift infrastructure. In fact, the ski area has a whopping 29 gondolas, and more than three-quarters of the chairlifts are 6-seaters. No need for awkward conversations when you’re with a group of friends: lift rides are the perfect time for you and your friends to recap yesterday night’s après-ski adventures and make plans for the upcoming ski day.

7. For the variety of ski circuits

Set a different goal every day and you and your friends can discover every inch of the Skicircus. The Skicircus Challenge is the most challenging ski circuit, covering 65km of slopes and best-suited to advanced skiers. If your group isn’t up to it, no worries: you can do the Saalbach circuit, the Hinterglemm circuit, the Leogang circuit or the Tyrol circuit, all of which measure around 20-25km.

About Danielle

Born and raised in the ski paradise of Vancouver, Canada, I learned to ski before I can remember, balancing precariously on my parents’ skis as they sailed down the hill. I started snowboarding in my teens and am now delighted to be exploring everything Europe’s ski scene has to offer!
