Heli skiing companies offer the opportunity to discover the mountains from a different angle giving you the impression of being on top of the world! This service usually includes transportation to the helicopter base, coaching with the provision of safety equipment and a restaurant booking afterwards. If the answer is yes, you’ll be in seventh heaven!!
Capture that magic moment
If you’d prefer something a little less extravagant but you’d like to capture a magical moment, then a photo shoot on the slopes with your loved one is just the thing for you. Valmorel is one ski resort that offers this particular service on the 14th of February.
Patron Saint of Courmayeur
The Italian ski resort of Courmayeur in the Aosta Valley, on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc, can boast to having St Valentine as its patron saint! What better excuse would you need to celebrate this special day in style. The resort centre is full of heart-shaped balloons, music and traditional dancing, with hot chocolate and mulled wine on offer wherever you turn. "Messages of love will be placed along Via Roma on special message boards where lovers can leave their messages," said a spokesperson from the Tourist Office.
Dinner with a view
For something really original, in the French resort of Les Gets, couples can dine in the Mont Chery gondola lift. The cabins are decorated to provide a warm, romantic atmosphere and the 3 different courses are served each time the cabin passes through the lift station! Of course the views are stunning – inside and outside!
Snuggle up and keep warm
Something that will certainly bring you even closer to your loved one is a night spent in an igloo! Many resorts, such as Orcières Merlette,
La Plagne
and
Les Deux Alpes, now offer this unusual and original activity.
This is not everyone's cup of tea but if you're willing to try something really unusual, this is definitely the choice for you. We’ll be doing a special report on this subject very soon so keep an eye on our blog…
Romance on ice!
Le chemin des Amoureux du Lac Gelé – literally means “the lover’s path of the frozen lake” – how much more romantic can you get than ice skating hand in hand with your chosen one! ... a beautiful moment for two – if you know how to ice skate… an amusing moment for one or the other – if you don’t know how to ice skate! In the evenings the ice rink in Tignes transforms into the "Disco on ice" if you prefer something a little less intimate! Not forgetting that access to Tignes skating rink is free! So make the most of it!
Looking for love…
And if you do not have an “other half” but don’t fancy spending Valentine’s Day alone, try an original version of speed-dating... join other singles for speed-dating on a chairlift! There’s no way of escaping – maybe you won’t want them to escape!
