The resort centre is full of heart-shaped balloons, music and traditional dancing, with hot chocolate and mulled wine on offer wherever you turn. "Messages of love will be placed along Via Roma on special message boards where lovers can leave their messages," said a spokesperson from the Tourist Office.
For something really original, in the French resort of Les Gets, couples can dine in the Mont Chery gondola lift. The cabins are decorated to provide a warm, romantic atmosphere and the 3 different courses are served each time the cabin passes through the lift station! Of course the views are stunning – inside and outside!

Being lucky enough to have parents who were crazy about skiing, my love for the mountains started when I was 4 years old on our first family ski holiday to Austrian ski resort of Obergurl. One ski holiday a year was never enough and tears rolled down my face as I looked out the back window of the car on the drive down the valley on the way home!
