Meran in short
-
Height: 324 metres
-
Palms and slopes
-
Stately health resort with lots of flair
-
Great hiking options
In fact Meran is not quite a ski resort. It is a chic town and after Bolzano, is the largest city of South Tyrol. A spacious boulevard with waving palms, a spa and casinos will remind you of Monte Carlo rather than a stylish ski resort. From the city’s outskirts, the gondola lift will take you to the 1900 metre high ski area in about 15 minutes. The ski slopes are generous, red, calm and above the tree line. After your ski session you can hit downtown and join the mixed crowd including spa guests, day trippers and winter sports fans.
